<image:caption>Devised Theatre is an area which is gaining much traction in American Theatre as it places the actor into a heightened category of creator, of poet. My provocation lies in the realm of the unknown. A Do-It-Yourself terrain where I welcome an exploration of the human condition which strips multiculture down to an admittedly paradoxical simplicity. The way I teach and make theatre puts the actor in the position of creator with an eye and ear for direction, musicality, lighting, acting, speech, silence and movement. My approach begins with an empty space, the dark stage where an opportunity to create light in the form of our physical, emotional, passionate beings germinates. The seeded relationship that grows from the empty space to a bright, lively movement for a breathing audience is the life of the theatre.</image:caption>
